Pastor Johnny

Pastor Johnny Hunt

Woodstock has been my home now since 1986. These have been some of the most exciting days that I have experienced as a pastor. Not only has our community changed... we have seen literally hundreds upon hundreds of individual lives changed at First Baptist Woodstock. The Lord has blessed us with wonderful facilities and a common goal to tell as many people as possible about Jesus Christ and the new life that can be experienced through knowing Him. Our desire is to let you know that you are always welcome at First Baptist Church and that you have an open invitation to worship with us at any time.

Blessings in Christ!

Pastor Jeremy Morton

God called Pastor Jeremy into the ministry when he was 14 years old and he began preaching on a weekly basis at 15 years old.  “There are not many memories that are not connected to the church.  Ministry is my heart and soul.  I cannot imagine it any other way. I was blessed to be taught and trained by some of the finest people on Earth: my family, my home church in Warner Robins, and all my college and seminary professors over the years. I am thankful and blessed that Pastor Johnny Hunt has been a very influential leader and mentor in my life since I was a college student.”

Pastor Jeremy and his wife, Carrie are lifelong Georgia residents who were church planters in the central part of the state for many years.  Jeremy became the senior co-pastor of First Baptist Woodstock in September of 2018.  Before coming to Woodstock, Pastor Jeremy served as the senior pastor at Cartersville First Baptist Church since being called to Bartow County in the fall of 2013.  Jeremy served as the senior pastor at Cross Point Baptist Church in Perry from its inception in 2002.

He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Christianity from Brewton Parker College in 2004, a Master of Divinity in Biblical Studies from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in 2007, and upon completing his dissertation will receive his Doctor of Ministry in Expository Preaching from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. Jeremy’s hobbies include sports, reading, enjoying nature, and spending time with family.  Pastor Jeremy’s life purpose statement: “I aim to glorify God by being a faithful husband, supportive father, loyal friend, and loving leader.”

Jeremy and Carrie are the proud parents of Zeke, Madie, and Abe.  The Morton’s believe God’s call upon their family is to immerse themselves in the local church. They have a clear passion for people and their community. Their earnest prayer is for God’s glory to be displayed in their personal and public life as a family.
